In June 2017, the University of Applied Sciences Zwickau (WHZ) was celebrating their 25th anniversary. Prof. Abdukalykov, rector of the Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transportation and Architecture as well as Dr. Abdulaev, dean of the Kyrgyz-German Faculty of Applied Informatics (http://kgfi.ksucta.kg/), took part in the celebration. Prof. Schwister, rector of the WHZ, personally invited Prof. Abdukalykov to the event and used the meeting to emphasized the importance of the cooperation for both universities and his ongoing support for the project. As part of their visit to WHZ, the KSUCTA representatives also discussed the next steps of the KyrMedu project with project coordinator Prof. Frank Grimm. KSUCTA is the key partner (http://kyrmedu.org/partners) in the KyrMedu project which aims to improve the quality of the Kyrgyz Healthcare Sector and strengthen the role of Kyrgyzstan's higher education institutions in society at large by developing new and innovative healthcare-related study programmes (healthcare informatics, economics, and biomedical engineering). As part of the WHZ international week which took place during the anniversary celebrations Prof. Grimm presented the KyrMedu project to the guests from all over the world.
