In the frame of the KyrMedu project, Talas State University has co-developed and implemented the new study programme in "Informatics in Health Care". Since 2017 the programme is open for applications. With the actual enrollment of 20 students in both years, it is considered to be a successful project which has an impact in Talas region.
During the project impementation, six teachers have been trained in Medical Informatics and Biomedical Engineering at Univerity of Zagreb in Croatia and at Technical University Cluj-Napoca in Romania. Three teachers have been trained in Biomedical Engineering on the devices of Medical Laboratory at KSMA in Bishkek. And three more teachers have graduated the University Didactics Training Programme conducted by Mr. Müller from the University of Applied Sciences Zwickau.
In 2017 the Teletaching Equipment was purchased and installed for distant learning purposes. And, in 2018 the room was extended by installing of portable medical devices for diognostics such as for measuring the heart rate, respiratory rate, blood oxygen levels, stress levels, blood chemistry etc. In order to meet the challenges of the modern IT technologies by mobile devices, the tracking softwares for Apple and Android were purchased as well.
The Teleteaching room was officially presented to the public on November 6, 2018. Representatives of the regional Hospital, the Stakeholders of the project, and the University members took part at the event. The project staff presented the achievements of the project so far and engaged with the students and teachers in discussions.
With this medical and IT technological Equipment, the TalSU aimes to improve the education at the univeristy in general and to strengthen the links between the theory and practice.
